A Letter from the Presidents
As we make plans for the 2008 P.R.C.A. Rodeo, your rodeo committee
has already begun to put some significant changes into play which
should make this the biggest and most entertaining Professional Rodeo
in the history of Montgomery County. Most of all it will be an event that the
entire family will find thrilling and memorable, from Grandma to Grandpa
to little toddlers.
We signed Stace Smith Pro Rodeo Company to produce this year's Lone
Star Stampede P.R.C.A. Rodeo, as well as sign the “Wild Child” Troy
Lurwell as the specialty act for this years event. In doing so, we believe we
have guaranteed Montgomery County, Harris County, and surrounding
Counties the best rodeo experience and provide a venue for proven World
Champion Cowboys to compete for cash and glory on the way to next
years National Finals Rodeo.
We will also have an I.B.C.A. Sanctioned BBQ Cook-Off, which will add
thousands of fans to the Lone Star Expo grounds to enjoy the rodeo and
guarantee that your advertising dollars are well spent. The Knights of
Columbus, as the sponsoring organization and your rodeo committee,
along with the help of Dodge Rodeo, Wrangler, Justin Boots, along with
your generous sponsorship monies hope to ensure the continuation of
this long standing county wide event and also increase the magnitude of
charitable dollars flowing out to our county in a diverse array of
Community Charitable projects. These include the Boy Scouts of America,
Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Venture Scouts, Toys for Tots, Scholastic
Scholarships, Food Banks, and Special Olympics plus many more.
Your rodeo committee is committed to putting the interest of our sponsors
to the forefront of this year’s Lone Star Stampede Rodeo. We believe that
together with your support and others like you the benefits to those in
need in the surrounding area will he on a new and stronger track into the

in the PRCA. In 2004, 2005,
2006 and 2007 Stace Smith
was named PRCA Stock
Contractor of the Year. Also
in 2004, Smith Pro Rodeos had two
rodeos in the top five in two of the four

Boyd Polhamus has been
the "National Finals Rodeo
Announcer" nine times, and
has been nominated for

pinnacle of his profession.
Named 2007 PRCA Announcer of
the Year, Boyd is in the "Who's Who of
Professional Rodeo".
