Changes are resonating across the Lone Star State
as the Annual Lone Star Stampede PRCA Rodeo
moves into a new era with four-time winner of the
PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year Stace Smith Pro
Rodeos producing this years rodeo. Headliners
include Boyd Polhamus 2007 PRCA Announcer of
the Year and Troy Lerwill 2007 PRCA Specialty Act
of the Year.
This event is being held at the Lone Star Expo Center in
Conroe, Texas just 40 miles north of downtown
Houston. Cowboys from across the country will
compete in some of the finest rodeo action to be found
anywhere in Texas. Demontrond Dodge our Presenting
Sponsor has played a huge role in bringing you this
year’s event. The new event, dubbed The Lone Star
Stampede, also raises awareness for the Wrangler
Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign, which
promotes the fight against Breast Cancer.
In conjunction with the Rodeo events will be the first
annual Pitts and Spitts Stampede of Pits Texas
Championship Barbecue Cook-off - an IBCA-
sanctioned points competition.
Tickets to the events are reasonably priced for the entire
family and the organizers predict a large local turnout in
addition to professional rodeo fans from across the
state and beyond. Tickets are $12 at the gate,
or $10 pre-sale. Children ages 3 and under are free.

Stace Smith produces
more PRCA rodeos than
any other stock contractor
in the PRCA. In 2004, 2005,
2006 and 2007 Stace Smith
was named PRCA Stock
Contractor of the Year. Also
in 2004, Smith Pro Rodeos had two
rodeos in the top five in two of the four
categories. We are thrilled to have
Stace Smith produce this year's Lone
Star Stampede in Conroe, Texas!
Rodeo Announcer: Boyd Polhamus
Boyd Polhamus has been
the "National Finals Rodeo
Announcer" nine times, and
has been nominated for
"Announcer of the Year"
eight times, reaching the
pinnacle of his profession.
Named 2007 PRCA Announcer of
the Year, Boyd is in the "Who's Who of
Professional Rodeo".
Specialty Act: Troy Lurwell
Known as "The Wild Child",
Troy draws on experiences
bullfighting and racing
motorcross in one of the
funniest and most exciting
specialty acts in professional rodeo.
He has been named 2007 PRCA
Specialty Act of the Year.
